The association works to conserve, enhance and protect the residential integrity and beauty of the Crooked Lake area.
Some of the things we do:
Test water quality of the lake.
Fire hydrants built and maintained around the lake. These hydrants are definitely a very dependable and welcome water source for our Fire Department personnel and have been used to fight fires around Crooked Lake.
Negotiate reduced trash pickup rates for Association members.
Meet with Steuben County commissioners to convey concerns.
Work with the Department of Natural Resources on weed control and pay for all treatment needed to control weeds.
Sponsor Department of Natural Resources boating education classes that are held in June each year.
Donations to worthwhile organizations such as the Steuben County Underwater Rescue Team.
Sponsor activities to rid the lake of trash fish such as gar and carp.
Encourage stocking of fish in the lake.
Fourth of July boat parade and \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'Light The Lake Red\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'.
Yearly scholarships for the Conservation Officers Youth Camp.
Buy and maintain buoys that mark hazardous and caution areas on the lake.
Ski Club.
Maintain a slalom course on the lake.
Patrol boat purchased and staffed by Sheriff\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Reserve Marine Patrol. These patrol officers are paid by the association.
Representative to the Steuben County Lakes Council.
Web Site.
Representative contacts Highway Department regarding mowing and washout spots on the roadways.
Maintain the dam that controls the water level of the lake and also pay the lease for the dam site.
